Modenschau – September 1933

New in the database since today is the Modenschau copy No. 249 from September 1933. In the fully uploaded 64-page issue, you will find not only the latest fall fashions, but also an illustrated article about the German film actor Gustav Froehlich (1902-1987) or an article titled "Here speaks your hairdresser!". An article called "German Harvest Customs" and a large-format picture from the annual show "The German Photograph 1933" already show a change in reporting since January 1933.

Modenschau – September 1931

As of now, the issue of Modenschau No. 225 from September 1931 can also be viewed in its entirety on artdeco-boulevard.de. Previously, only 13 of the total 64 pages of the issue were online. This issue presents the latest fall fashions for 1931, including transitional dresses and fall coats, as well as elegant tea dresses and afternoon gowns. In addition, the editorial section contains an illustrated article on Buster Keaton.

There are now over 3,400 pages in the artdeco-boulevard.de database.

Hamilton Garment Co. 1917

The subject of this update is the mail-order catalog of the New York department store Hamilton Garment Co. from the spring and summer of 1917. In addition to day, sports and formal dresses, blouses, coats and costumes, this catalog also includes dust coats for ladies on page 20, which were intended for car trips in the mostly open automobiles of the time.

In addition to the four color pages, the inserts (message from the managing director, order form and order envelope) are also scanned in for the first time.

Modenschau – August 1931

Although August is still warm as summer, this month at the latest marks the beginning of the mood for fall fashion. This was already the case 86 years ago, when the August 1931 issue of Modenschau magazine No. 224 went on sale. In addition to transitional fashions for the approaching cooler season, evening wear and wedding dresses can also be found in this issue.

As of now, this issue is also online in its entirety; previously, only 16 pages were public. More than 3,300 pages are now available in the artdeco-boulevard.de database.

Wiener Record Mode – July 1929

The subject of today's update is the July 1929 issue of the Austrian illustrated Wiener Record Mode No. 104. The first issue to be published on artdeco-boulevard.de features fashionable summer dresses in bulk, although the weather of the normally hot summer month of July did not show its best side in Germany in 1929 either (weather data).

Moreover, this issue features evening dresses, ensembles and costumes, as well as beautiful fashion photography by Balazs, Becker & Maass and Madame d'Ora.
